Blood elf armor - chest piece by YurikoSeira Blood elf armor - chest piece by YurikoSeira
I just found some old, unfinished armor pieces at the weekend, while sorting my old stuff. I started this costume to attend a WoW party as a Blood elf, but never finished it (because at the end I couldn't go to the event).
I felt a bit sorry for them, so I finished the missing pieces, glued them together, added the details, and painted it.

- *EDIT* -
Made it out of craft foam, hot glue and some plastic.
I put it together from 5 pieces (because some parts of the armor are leveled). It should have been 9, but I cheated, and used the raised details to make certain parts look separate.
I cut out the part for the breasts - the only part I couldn’t do with craft foam because of the curved shape - out of a plastic form (similar to the ones they use for swimsuit display). Used craft foam for the other pieces as a base.
I scetched the details onto paper, then cut out of craft foam. The quality of the paint is very important for me when I do armors and props. Some kinds of acrylic paint doesn’t cover the craft foam well, or don’t withstand when you slightly blend certain parts (cracks, etc.).

I am still considering if I should make the whole costume for the event in 3 weeks...

Very nice! I just saw the pic of a Blood Elf wearing this armor in a Mists of Pandaria book that a friend gave me, and even I want to build something like it!

Craft Foam? Could you post a link to what kind you're talking about? Only craft foam I know of would break under even the slightest amount of pressure.

The plastic really gave a unique shine look :D
Compared to paint, Plastic gloss is much better :D

Szinte az összes hobbi/kreatív boltban lehet kapni, kb. 90-100 Ft az ára/lap (A4-es méret).

I cut it out from a plastic form (similar to the ones they use for swimsuit display), rest of the parts are craft foam. :)

I got it from the market in my area, unfortunately I don't know where you can get them in other countries. :(
Maybe you can ask a nearby swimsuit/underwear seller where they get their displays, or ask them to get one for you. :)

Love the design. Great looking craftsmanship.

I think that I could make that out of full leather. I am working right now to create a mold for the cups so that I can wet mold the leather to that shape. The rest would be easy.

I would love to see this out of leather. :)
I wish I could have made this out of leather too... Would be much more confortable to wear, and more sturdy.
But unfortunately I can't do leather stuff :(

I love this and am so jealous! I really want to do WoW costumes but I don't make armor or the like. This looks really amazing so far and would bet the rest of it will turn out awesome. You should totally go for it! Definitely make it.

You should try out craft foam armors sometime! It's easy to use as long you don't have to make curved shapes (like breastplates). :)

2,5 weeks are a bit short (this is the only piece I have complete right now :( ), but I will give it a try ^^
The breast part is similar to yours (Lenneth). Similar to the smaller ones they use to display swimsuits or underwear (they have only a front part).
